Start the new year with heaps of snow
Traditional, contemplative and sportive – this is how you will spend the first month of the year in the Damüls holiday paradise. The Damüls famer's market, as well as the farmer's market in Mellau, invite you to pure indulgence and free-rider will enjoy powder snow in the world's snowiest village.
Damüls farmer's market
A small but mighty farmer's market takes place in the centre every Friday from January to April. From the Madlener Mountain Hotel you can take a nice stroll to the market that is only a few minutes by foot away. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere there and taste delicious Vorarlberg delicacies. Listen to the Damüls ladies chatting or just enjoy the panoramic views over the Damüls mountains with a steaming hot mulled wine in your hand.
Regional products like cheese, bacon and sausages as well as local handicraft are available at the stalls.
Mellau farmer's market
In Mellau you will also have the opportunity to taste delicious Vorarlberg delights once a week. The Mellau farmer's market takes place every Thursday from 3pm-5:30pm on the main square next to the church.
At the lovely stalls you can buy regional specialties and much more:

- Fresh bread from the wood fired oven
- Vorarlberg cheese

Free-ride off-piste skiing
Experience pure skiing bliss in the deep powder snow around Damüls. Explore the spacious free-rider's off-piste terrain in the Damüls-Mellau-Faschina ski resort with the Mellau skiing school. The powder-skiing courses are offered every Thursday between 10am-12pm and are open to everyone who is already a good on-piste skier. Meeting point is at the skiing school office in Mellau. Every group takes 3-6 people. Costs are EUR54.00 incl. an avalanche transceiver.
